Modern slavery statement

Last updated: October 2026

This statement sets out the steps Okapi and Co (South) Limited takes to understand and minimise the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. It is made on a voluntary basis: our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold at which a statement is required under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish it because we believe every business, whatever its size, should take a clear position.

About us

Okapi and Co (South) Limited is a small AI-first digital marketing and web development agency based in Shaftesbury, Dorset. Company number 16916584, registered in England and Wales. We provide SEO, generative engine optimisation, website and app development, retained marketing, and AI training and workshops to UK clients.

Our people

We are a small team and we work directly with everyone we engage. We pay at or above the Real Living Wage, we do not use unpaid labour, and we verify that anyone we take on has the right to work in the UK. Our size means we know every person who works for us personally, which makes the risk of forced or compulsory labour within our own operations very low.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain is short and consists mainly of software and digital service providers, for example hosting, email delivery, analytics and payment platforms, along with occasional freelance specialists and venue and catering suppliers for our workshops. We consider the risk of modern slavery in software supply chains to be low, but we are mindful that hardware, logistics and facilities services carry higher risk, and we favour established, reputable suppliers who are themselves subject to UK or EU employment and human rights law.

The steps we take

  • We expect the freelancers and suppliers we work with to treat their own people lawfully and fairly, and we will not knowingly work with any business found to be using forced labour, child labour or human trafficking.
  • We keep our supply chain deliberately small and well understood, so we can see who we are dealing with.
  • We review this statement each year and will strengthen our checks as the business grows, particularly if we approach the turnover threshold at which a statement becomes a legal requirement.
