Meet the Trainer: Why I Started Teaching Business Owners to Use AI
Before the AI tutorials begin, here is the story behind this series: thirty years in digital marketing, one big shift, and why I want to show you exactly what I have learned about using Claude.

Thirty years is a long time
I have been doing digital marketing for thirty years. That means I was optimising websites before most people knew what a website was. I have worked agency side, client side, run my own training, and spent more hours than I care to count trying to explain to very serious people in very serious boardrooms why their Google ranking matters.
I have trained hundreds of businesses, from early-stage startups to established brands, on SEO, content strategy, analytics and digital marketing. I have worked with organisations like Enterprise Nation, run regular in-person training courses, and I hold a business mentoring qualification through the Growth Management Programme.
Something changed about a year ago
About a year ago, everything shifted.
I started experimenting with AI tools seriously. Not just having a play around, but genuinely testing what these tools could do for a real business. I wanted to understand how they worked, what they were actually capable of, and more importantly, how business owners without a technical background could use them without getting lost.
I got certified by Anthropic, the company behind Claude. And then I started using Claude to run my own business. To automate processes. To build websites. To save time that I used to spend on repetitive tasks.
The results surprised me. Not in an exaggerated way. In a quietly practical, genuinely useful way.
Why I am sharing this
I kept meeting business owners who were curious about AI but did not know where to start. They had heard about ChatGPT. They had read articles. But they did not know which tool to use, how to avoid making mistakes, or whether it would actually help their specific business.
So I built this series to answer those questions honestly. No made-up statistics. No breathless promises. Just things I have tested myself, explained in plain English.
